Preview of the Monday fixture programme in the Veterans 6-Man League which is the final day of the season for these teams

It is the final day of the season in the Veterans 6-Man League with the Division 1 title going to Clayton West A if they secure one point from their match against their only rival for the title, Marsh United A. That means that Marsh United A have to win 7-0 to draw level on points with Clayton West. In the event of the points totals being level then it comes down to the team with the better Aggregate For total. That currently stands at 2055-1975 in favour of Clayton West.

At the opposite end of the table Golcar C&BC need two points from their home match against bottom-of-the-table Skel Windmill A, to eliminate themselves from the relegation battle. That would leave three clubs still in danger of being relegated, with two of them definitely going down. Skel Windmill A are in the greatest danger of relegation with the likelihood that either Thongsbridge A or Lindley Lib A will join them in Division 2 for next season. Thongsbridge A are one point behind Lindley Lib A at present and have an away match on Monday at Milnsbridge A whereas Lindley Lib A have a final day home match against third-in-the-table Broad Oak A. Lots still to play for.

Two points for the Paddock I&C team in last week's home match against Marsh Lib A took them out of reach of the bottom three teams who now have to work out between themselves which two of them will be relegated come Monday tea-time. Interestingly, two of those three play each other which could be good news for the third member of that trio, Denby Dale. They will need to play their part by beating their last day of the season opponents, Almondbury Lib, by 7-0 probably. Then should bottom-of-the-table Brockholes B beat Milnsbridge by 6-1 that would send the losers down. Any other combination of results will see the Milnsbridge team escape a last day meltdown and ensure that Brockholes B and Denby Dale will both be relegated.

At the top of the table Brockholes A are already Champions but New Mill A need two points from their final fixture against Longwood to secure the second promotion place. If Longwood win the match 6-1 then both teams will finish on the same 55 points mark and it will come down to the best 'Aggregate For' total which currently favours Longwood 1901-1853.

It is all done and dusted at the top of the Division 3 table but it is two from three who will be going down at the foot of the table. The key fixture here sees bottom of the pile, Elland C&BC, are three points behind their Monday opponents Marsh Lib B. Greenhead Park A are sandwiched between those two teams and have to travel to play the Division 3 Champions Thongsbridge C.

The only outstanding matter in Division 4 is the Champions title with Hemplow B having their destiny in their own hands. Should they collect a minimum of 4 points from their last day home fixture against second-from-bottom Shepley B, they will be crowned as Champions with Netherton Cons already assured of at least the runners-up place and promotion.
