Winter League

The was just a two-metre strip of frosted green running down on edge of the Milnsbridge lawn on Wednesday for the weekly dose of Winter League action which made an interesting attraction for some bowlers. With 9/10ths of the green bathed in sunshine, which had melted the frost, we had a suitable surface to display the skills of the top teams in our League. The sunshine brought out some extra spectators who quickly learned to avoid the cold shaded side and enjoy some invigorating fresh air although the regulars quickly took up residence in the clubhouse from where they had a good view of the green without being exposed to the elements.
