Horticulture equipment suppliers Dennis & SISIS invited clubs, crown green and lawn, nationwide to enter a competition where there were three prizes of a free consultation and improvement programme for their bowling greens. One of the three winners was Penistone B.C. and this is the story of how they were selected as winners and the outcome of their free consultation all on video.
The second of three green consultations, as part of the recent Dennis & SISIS competition, was carried out by turf expert Alan Lewis at Penistone & District Bowling Club. The club in South Yorkshire, were the second of three lucky winners, after Phil Vickers submitted an entry to explain how their green was in a very poor state 2 years ago and the improvements they have made over the last two years through the hard work of a small team of volunteers.
