Preview of Division 1 and 2 fixtures for Tuesday 25 April 2023
There are just two teams with 100% win records in Division 1 this season, Lockwood Con 'A' and Marsh United 'A', and they meet each other this Tuesday when one of those records will go. As the home team, Lockwood Con will fancy their chances and with the teams above them in the table having some difficult-looking fixtures they know a big win would take them up the table from their current 5th position.
Champions Golcar Lib 'A' are level top and have home advantage over Longwood who have made a bright start to the season. Cowcliffe head the table at present but will do well to do so after their trip to play in-form Clayton West this week. Meltham may be relying on their home form to save them from a relegation scrap again this year and a 9-0 home win last time out will put them in good shape for this Tuesday's visitors from Elland C&BC.
Third-placed Rastrick entertain Kirkheaton Con 'A' whilst Milnsbridge 'A' will remain bottom of the pack regardless of what else happens as they sit this week out and watch a gap emerge between them and the teams playing this Tuesday.
Lindley Lib 'A' have a two-point lead at the top of Division 2 and they have every chance of extending that with a home match against Linthwaite Hall whilst their nearest rivals and neighbours from Lindley BC 'A' have to travel to New Mill. Netherton Con are the third unbeaten team in the division and they will expect to extend that sequence when Bradley & Colne come to visit this week. Although holding the same unbeaten record from three matches, Netherton Con are 5-points off the top of the table so will be keen to reduce that gap with a fourth win this Tuesday and close in on their two rivals.
After a poor opening day defeat, Thorpe Green have added two wins since and have lowly Almondbury BC 'A' as visitors who travel for the first time this season after losing both their home matches to date. Holmfirth 'A' and Hemplow 'A' are both looking for their first wins of the season and one of them will reach their target this week as the teams meet up. Four teams are locked together in mid-table with the same 13-points total to date and two of those teams confront each other this week when Shepley 'A' and Broad Oak 'A' meet.
