Winter League
The weather has already caused some changes to the dates for the Winter Cup Qualifying Round dates even though the competition hasn't started yet. Over the last 6 days we have lost a total of 8 days of League fixtures. Three of the 8 days have been rearranged so far, they being:
Division 3 (Springwood)
Postponed on Wednesday 7 January will now be played on Wednesday 4 February.
Division 7 (Huddersfield RUFC)
Postponed on Thursday 8 January will now be played on Tuesday 13 January
Division 10 (Netherton Con)
Postponed on Monday 5 January will now be played on Tuesday 3 February
Bowlsnet has been updated to show these changes
The other five host clubs are waiting for the end of the cold spell and the threat to more fixture losses over the coming week before finalising new dates for the lost fixtures.
The rearranging of League fixtures can impact the published dates of Winter Cup dates. Where the lost fixtures have been added on to the League season and so replace a Winter Cup Qualifying Round (as is the case with the Division 3 rearranged fixtures), then the Winter Cup date drops back a further week. So the Division 3 (Springwood) Winter Cup Qualifying Round will now be played 7 days later than originally advertised, and will now be played on Wednesday 11 February. Any bowler that has entered the Winter Cup but is not available on any new date will be able to claim a refund of their entry fee.
As new dates for the lost fixtures are finalised they will be updated on Bowlsnet. The League has always treated the Bowlsnet information as the Bible for fixtures in the Winter League and the first port of call for any club/bowler wanting to know the latest state of play with fixtures.
