Winter League
Plans are well advanced in preparation for the 7th season of the Huddersfield Winter League. With two new host greens lined up to accommodate the increased demand we are almost ready to roll. We really need to confirm the number of teams for the coming season with five new teams already stepping forward to join the League. We have room for even more but need those teams to step forward no later than Wednesday 1 July which is less than 3 weeks away.
The two new host greens are Thorpe Green and Skelmanthorpe Central. It is expected that they will host the Divisions 10 and 11 teams for next season but this is to be confirmed. There are still openings available for next season and any team worried about playing above or below their strength should understand that there is some flexibility in putting new teams in a Division best suited to their capabilities. The closing date for new team entries for the 2026-27 season is Wednesday 1 July.
Any team considering joining the League for the 2026-27 season can now contact the League Secretary to get full details and the answers to all your questions. Here are the answers to some of our most FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

hot drinks along with hot and cold food are always available for spectators at a modest charge.
we have two individual competitions open to all Winter League bowlers. The Winter Cup is for individuals and attracted 162 entries last season. The Pairs KO had 93 pairs (186 bowlers) competing for the title in its second season in 2025-26. Both have Division-based qualifying competitions.
