League News

Almondbury Lib bowler Neil Slattery won the Roger Crowther Memorial Trophy at Longwood on Sunday. Neil was winning the Colne Valley League competition title for a second successive year after beating Crosland Moor bowler Terry Brook 21-18 in a closely fought final.

Slattery, after a comfortable first round victory then had to overcome close games with Carl Allen of Golcar Lib (21-18) and then defeating previous winner Paul Ingleby of Linthwaite Hall (21-17). Brook however had a quieter path to the final before notably beating Ashley Daykin 21-6 in the semi-final.

The weather was kinder than forecast and resulted in a reasonable attendance with almost £300 raised for a cancer charity. All the results, round-by-round are below along with a selection of photos.

The Haigh Family are well represented at the competition L to R: Nathan, Steven and Ian
