It was a very dark sky full of black clouds that greeted the Division 1 teams to Milnsbridge on Wednesday. The constant drizzling rain ensured that everyone was thoroughly wet-through by the time the matches were complete but the bowlers were ambivalent to the drenching as they set about their business. It didn't feel like Christmas at all apart from the date which was a giveaway along with the mince-pies that the catering team had added to the menu and displayed on the covered pool table. The rain provided a lace curtain across each photograph to hinder rather than add mystique but that is winter bowling for you. Merry Christmas to bowlers everywhere.
