Lorraine loses out in semis of Champion of Champions

Bowling News

Huddersfield bowler Lorraine Hirst just missed out on reaching the Final of the BCGBA Ladies Champion of Champions competition at Warrington yesterday. New Mill member Lorraine won three matches to reach the semi-finals where she was beaten 11-21 by Shannon Kernick from Warwick & Worcester who went on to win the competition. A magnificent achievement by Lorraine after qualifying by winning the Enid Blackburn Trophy held at Linthwaite Hall earlier in the season. The photograph below shows Lorraine receiving that trophy from Enid's daughter, Amanda Turton.

There was a total of five Yorkshire representatives in the last 32 with Julie Mallinson, Chloe Hirst and Alexis Lunn-Dagg all going out in Round 1 whilst Emma Tobin made it through to the 2nd Round before losing out 17-21 to Nicola Boulton (Mid-Cheshire). Below is the full set of results from the Ladies Champion of Champions Finals Day.
