Longwood on course for hat-trick of titles

Longwood remain bang on track for a hat-trick of Team Knock-Out titles after overcoming a +27 point handicap start for Brockholes A in Friday's semi-finals. The one difference being that this year they will not have to face Cowcliffe in the Final as they have done in 2025 and 2024 and Golcar Lib A will stand in their way of a third successive title.

The Golcar Lib A team reached the Final after a close encounter with Division 2 strugglers, Broad Oak A, who put their dismal League form behind them to mount a strong challenge supported by an overall +13 handicap start before eventually going down 133-138.

Division 1 team Golcar Lib A will provide a stiff challenge although I am not sure they will appreciate the neutral green selection for the Final. That is due to be Kirkheaton Cons, where Longwood will be playing a League match 3 days prior to the Final. That will suit the Longwood side as in addition they have collected the title playing on that same green for the last two years.
