Lindley Lib are the Division 4 Champions

Winter League

A big 8-0 final day victory for Lindley Lib 'B' was good enough for them to leap to the top of the Division 4 table and so lift the Arthur Tracey Cup. That scoreline produced a 5-point turnaround over previous leaders Milnsbridge 'B' who were held to a 4-4 draw by Marsh Lib. Saying 'held' is a bit of an undersell really as Milnsbridge needed a 49-48 aggregate score to share the points having lost 2 of the 3 games.

The two teams have taken it in turn to head the table almost all season but at the end of the campaign, it is the home team that prevails. It is in some ways very fitting that the home team should collect the new Arthur Tracey Cup as Arthur has been a member of the club for many years and he will be no doubt delighted to present the trophy to his club team at the End of Season Party.

Not a good day for the Milnsbridge team for as well as conceding the title they also missed out on the Top Bowler award as well. Milnsbridge bowler Steve Berry lost his match and his one-game advantage opened up the way to his two prime opponents. Netherton Con bowler, Ray Clayton, couldn't take advantage of that opening losing for the first time this season to let Lowerhouses captain Steve Lee take top spot and he will receive the new Tony Booth Memorial Trophy in due course.
