Winter League
Preview of the Divisions 4 & 10 fixture programme for Monday 12 January
We are hopeful that we will have some Winter League bowling this week as the forecast is for a rise in temperatures as a new week beckons. Information on what matches are on and off will appear on the homepage of this website by 10.00am on each matchday.

We have a top versus bottom clash in Division 4 this week as the leaders and homesters from Primrose Hill Lib, clash with Huddersfield Recreation Club A. The League records are mirror images of each other and when the teams met earlier in the season an 8-0 win for the Pip Hill side reflected their positions at that time and ever since.
Alongside the Recreation Club team in the relegation places sit Lindley Lib C who are in real danger of making an immediate return to their home green and back in Division 5. Last season they won 13 of their 14 fixtures but have rarely shown anything like that sort of form this season and a match against promotion-chasing Elland WMC wouldn't feature highly on their wishlist at any time. Only the leaders have punctured the Elland team's winning record over their last seven matches and the expectation is that it will be extended further this week.
Netherton Con A moved into 3rd place after a second consecutive win last Monday and that puts them only two points off the second promotion place with a run of three matches against bottom four teams coming up starting with a match against the inconsistent Linthwaite Hall A side. The Linfit outfit are the only team to clock up a whitewash 8-0 win over the table leaders but they have dropped too many points to teams below them in the table to feature in the promotion race this season.
A win this week for Brockholes A would lift them right out of the relegation battle but to do that they will have to reverse their earlier defeat against Monday's opponents Milnsbridge B this week.

The Division 10 teams will be keen to return to action after their prolonged Christmas break and the title race could take a big swing in favour of one of the two candidates this week. Thongsbridge are one point clear of Rastrick and Monday's fixture programme gives them a real opportunity to improve on that further. The leaders face bottom-of-the-table Outlane B who make a bad habit of losing 0-8 to the top three teams. A repeat of that would be well received by the Thongsbridge team as their two rivals for honours go up against each other. Rastrick and Skel Windmill A drew 4-4 when they drew earlier in the season and a repeat of that scoreline would suit the leaders very much.
We have three new teams joining the Division 10 competition replacing three teams who couldn't commit to the added fixtures after the initial half-season point was reached. Those three teams inherited the playing records of the previous teams and two of those teams face each other this Monday. Skel Windmill B and Brockholes E sit mid-table and this result could launch an upward lift for the winner. Whereas the outcome of the other match which is between Holmfirth B and Brockholes D could have a greater impact on the battle to get out of the relegation places.
