Winter League
A preview of the Divisions 1 & 2 fixtures scheduled for Wednesday 20 Division

No sooner have New Mill A recaptured top spot in the Division 1 table than they have a bye week and look likely to relinquish that position once again. That is especially the case as the two teams immediately below them in the table have bottom-three opponents. Second-placed Thorpe Green A are only 4 points behind the leaders and will take on Lowerhouses A this Wednesday and Clayton West play Meltham who are in the relegation places.
Lower Hopton and Kirkheaton Con A meet up and in four League meetings to date between the teams, the two-times Champions have only beaten the Con team once. However the teams come into the match in very different form as Lower Hopton have recovered from their slow start to the season and have won their last three matches whereas Kirkheaton Con won for the first time this season last Wednesday.
Golcar Lib are at the foot of the table but with both their nearest rivals in the table playing top three opposition could pass both of them with a big win when they take on Lindley BC A. Yet the Lindley side have equitted themselves well since returning to the top division whilst the Golcar side are still adjusting to winter bowling.
The Division 2 leaders are Cowcliffe A who have won all seven of their fixtures to date but the one side they still have to face is Denby Dale and that takes place this week. The Denby side have won their last four matches and will prove a good test for the leaders. They are one of three teams level on points all vying for the second promotion place.
Lindley BC B are also in that trio and with a Lindley derby match lined up this week things are starting to get interesting. Milnsbridge A complete that threesome level on points and will expect to keep up their challenge when meeting Springwood A who have lost their last four matches. A meeting of the bottom two teams completes this Wednesday's fixture programme as Huddersfield Recreation Club A and Lockwood Con A have both lost their last four fixtures and a good win for either could take them out of the drop zone.
