Who won the 2015 Drawn Pairs Competition?
I am trying to compile a record of all our trophy winners and need your help. What is missing in our records are the 2015 Drawn Pairs Winners. The competition was probably played at Canalside, on a weekend, sometime in late summer. It would have been a pretty long day and the winners will have played at least 4 games, maybe more.
Were you there? Did you win the trophy? Were you beaten in the final? Were you involved with the catering or generally helping out in any way? Did your dog, cat, or partner complain when you eventually landed home? Did you need a long hot soak to revive your body? Did you take a photo of yourself and partner with the trophy? I am hopeful that the events of 2015 are lurking in someones memories and the names just need jogging out.
To help you with the time-frame here are the winners that we do know about: 2010 Heather Dyson & Doreen Wood 2011 Shirley Joyce & Susan Smith 2012 Karen Rausse & Katy Atkinson 2013 not played 2014 Pat Barr & Lorraine Hirst 2015 ??? 2016 Margaret Pointon & Susan Proctor 2017 not played 2018 not played 2019 Julie Wood & Julie Mallinson 2020 not played (Covid pandemic) If any of the above details are incorrect please let me know.
Our records prior to 2010 are inaccessible at the moment, but I think these will become available later this year. I will then start on the winners prior to 2010.
I know it’s a bit slack that our records are incomplete but I am trying to make amends now. I live in hope that:
a) its not too late, and b) the pairs trophy will surface eventually.
So if you have any ideas about the winners in 2015 please let me know - it would make
my day. Amazing what counts as a highlight these days!
