Ladies Works League 2021 Season

Updated: Mar 31, 2021

Ladies Works League

The 2021 Season

Thank you to all the teams that have told us their plans for 2021.

We are now in a position to let you know how 2021 is shaping up for everyone.

Three teams will not be joining us this year. Unfortunately MA Bakers (Cowcliffe) and Easy Bathrooms (Dalton) are struggling to raise any sort of team due to illness and other issues. The Debriar (Marsh Utd) team feel that it is too soon to be playing League games this year. We wish everyone in these teams the very best of fortunes. We will miss your hospitality and company but hopefully that will resume again next year.

Moving on to the plus side. We are welcoming a new team personaliseHR playing at Springwood and against all odds Pauls Kitchens (Bradley & Colne), have managed to survive with the help of some players from the defunct Groom Room team. The only team that might be a little short of players is Alicia Dawn Photography, all others have indicated that they expect to have a full squad.

That all adds up to a total of 14 teams. There will be 7 teams in each of the sections - these are listed below.

Section 1

1) Atkinsons Butchers

2) Alicia Dawn Photography

3) Brook Hanson A

4 )Bolster Moor Farm Shop

5) Strait Kutz Hairdressers

6) Huddersfield Recreation Club

7) Peg Peregro

Section 2

1) Pauls Kitchens

2) D. Haigh & Co

3) Pearce Displays

4) Holmes Dresser

5) Brook Hanson B

6) Colne Valley Garden Centre

7) personaliseHR

The League fixture programme will be on Bowlsnet as soon as possible but we have to dovetail with 2 mens Leagues so this may be a little while.

The first fixture will be the week commencing May 10th. This is a week before the Ladies Evening League and will ensure that every team can play their first match without any rearranging. This should get us all off to the best start possible. There will be no fixtures on Spring Bank holiday the week of 31st of May. We will also not be bowling on the weeks of 26th July and the 2nd of August. We will end the season the week beginning the 6th of September.

We are looking forward to resuming the League but like everyone else we are holding our breath that all goes as planned with the easing of restrictions. Along with all the other Leagues that are resuming we will be adhering to the rules from the Government, Sport England, the BCGBA and YCCGBA. We want everyone to enjoy playing this year so, if at any time you feel unsafe or that you are unable to play, for any reason then you are free to withdraw at any time without any penalty.

We will continue to plan accordingly and look forward to seeing you all again sooner rather than later.

Best wishes

The Committee
