A review of Tuesdays results in Divisions 3,4&5 of the Veterans 10-Man League

New Mill A continue to set a hot pace at the top of the Division 3 table with a fourth 8-1 home win of the season, this time over Slaithwaite which plunged the losers into the relegation battle. Golcar Lib B matched that scoreline when taking on Brockholes A who drop to 4th place as a result. Linthwaite Hall move into third place after beating Kirkheaton C&BC A by 6-1.
The shock result of the day saw bottom of the table, Holmfirth A, win 7-2 away at Lindley Lib B who stay 5th but a long way off joining in the promotion chase. That result didn't move Holmfirth off the foot of the table but a first win in their last 10 fixtures will have given them great heart for the rest of the season. With the four teams immediately above them all now within another 7-2 scoreline of being caught things are hotting up.
Springwood continue their recovery after losing the first 6 fixtures of the season they have now won five on the bounce to move out of immediate danger but will need more of the same to stay out of the relegation battle. A third 8-1 on this day in Division 3 saw Paddock I&C move right away from the drop zone and going in the right direction but cannot afford to relax too much for very long.

All six Division 4 fixtures went the way of the home teams and all but one finished with a 7-2 scoreline. The odd ones out being the leaders Kirkheaton Con B who saw off the challenge from Marsh United B by 6-3.
Marsh Lib B and Huddersfield RUBC remain well in contention after both having the regulation 7-2 home wins over Thongsbridge B and Lockwood Con B respectively. Brockholes B will have been heartened by their 7-2 home win over Ravensknowle Park but they remain in the relegation places along with David Brown Sports who went down away to Meltham B.

A most commendable 7-2 away win at Lindley BC B for Broad Oak B was rewarded by them taking over top spot in Division 5. Netherton Con B slip to second place after losing 3-6 away to Greenhead Park.
Holmfirth B had a good day winning 7-2 at home to Marsh Lib B and stepping above them in the table as a result. Almondbury BC B remain bottom after going down narrowly 4-5 to Dalton who were reliant on the 107-105 aggregate score to pinch the points. Another close score was the 105-103 aggregate win for New Mill B over Hemplow B producing another 5-4 away win, a 4th successive win to keep them climbing up the table well under the radar of the other promotion contenders.
