Veterans League
The winners of the 2023 Team KO were Golcar Lib A but they relinquished that title at Almondbury BC yesterday when they were beaten 139-145 by Elland WMC. That was a serious scalp for the new team to the League and has thrown the competition wide open. A 27-point handicap lead proved to be beyond the scope of the title holders but that wasn't the only surprise result.
Marsh United A currently sit at the top of the Division 1 table and were last season's runners-up but that counted for nothing yesterday as they went out of the Team KO with a 133-139 loss to Division 2 side Thongsbridge A. The rewards for the two surprise winners are more Division 1 opponents in the next round.
A third top-flight team went out of the competition when Lockwood Con A defeated fellow Division 1 team Kirkheaton Con A 133-131 in the closest result of the round. The full set of results, along with the full lineup in the Round of the Last 16 are listed below.
