Golcar C&BC incurred a 20-point penalty at the end of last season for declining the promotion won by finishing top of the Division 8 table.

Hemplow A swap places with Division 8 rivals Broad Oak B to go top of the table as teams reach the halfway point of the season. They swap places after Hemplow A beat the previous leaders 8-0 to leapfrog from 3rd to 1st place. Stuck between these two teams rest Lockwood Con C after they also suffered a defeat going down reigning Champions Golcar C&BC. That moved the Golcar team off the bottom of the table for the first time this season after they pegged back the 20-points penalty they incurred for declining promotion last season.

Cowcliffe C moved away from the drop zone after beating Meltham B 6-2 to climb to 6th position and condemning Meltham B to the bottom place. Mirfield B and Linthwaite Hall B retained the 4th and 5th positions after their meeting on Tuesday when the Mirfield B team came out on top by 6-2.

Greenhead Park made it five wins on the bounce after dismissing the challenge from Kirkheaton C&BC B with a 6-2 victory in their Division 9 encounter. The C team from Kirkheaton C&BC stay second with a 6-2 win over Almondbury BC C who were suffering a 5th consecutive defeat and stay in the second relegation place. They are just ahead of the Brockholes C team who went down 2-6 to Mirfield C who moved away from the bottom two who are seriously adrift in the survival game of avoiding relegation.

Marsh Lib B and Kirkheaton Con C shared the spoils after drawing 4-4 and they remain comfortably positioned in 3rd and 4th position but not looking likely to emerge as a promotion threat to the top two teams at present.
