Heckmondwike Charity KO night

Club News

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a truly awful illness killing 2,000 people a year and locks people inside a failing body whilst retaining all their other senses. The Mel Evans MBE Foundation is a charity established to raise funding to support research into the illness. With a second objective to raise the development of crown green bowling at grassroots level it is a fitting charity to attract support from the bowling community.

Famous named sufferers of MND and leading lights in raising the profile of the disease include Rob Burrow, Doddie Weir and Stephen Hawking.

A fundraising event is scheduled for Heckmondwike B.C. next week when 16 top bowlers will play off in a straight knock-out competition. If you are ready for the new season and want to witness high-standard bowling whilst supporting this most worthwhile charity then Friday 31 March starting at 6.30pm at Heckmondwike Bowling Club is the place to be. More information about the event and MND is below.
