Two points separate the top three teams in Division 8 and two of those teams meet up this Tuesday at Lockwood Con. The leaders, Hemplow A, take on third-placed Lockwood Con C. Both teams have Won-4 Lost-1 records with identical 279 Aggregate For totals. The only difference between the teams is the two points that the Hemplow have collected more than the homesters of Lockwood Con. The only blot on the Lockwood Cons team's record is a 0-8 reversal against second-placed Broad Oak B. Whilst Hemplow haven't been beaten since their opening day of the season collapse of 0-8 to Cowcliffe C.

The Broad Oak B team remain unbeaten and will not expect to lose that record when playing against bottom-of-the-table Golcar C&BC. However the Golcar C&BC side are only bottom of the table because of the 20-points penalty they acquired after declining promotion last season. They have now recovered all those 20 points and are back in the land of positive points totals again. A win this week would take them off the bottom of the table for the first time this season so there is a real incentive for them.

The two teams immediately above the Golcar C&BC team are Linthwaite Hall B and Cowcliffe C who are both on 10-points and they meet up this Tuesday. The two teams above them are also meeting each other as the B teams from Mirfield and Meltham are in confrontation.

Greenhead Park will seek to consolidate their lead at the top of the Division 9 table this Tuesday when they take on Mirfield C. It would be a major surprise if they didn't do and extend their unbeaten record at the same time. However Kirkheaton C&BC C are poised to nip in and take advantage of any surprise result as they are only two points behind the leaders who are the only team to beat them this season.

We have another Kirkheaton derby match as the 2nd-placed C&BC C team meets the Cons Club C team. It wouldn't be a surprise if the result of this match was an 8-0 scoreline as that is the outcome of the Kirkheaton Cons team first five fixtures when they have won 3 and lost 2 but each time the 8-0 score has featured.

The Brockholes C team continue to yearn for their first win of the season but will do well to reach that milestone when they take on Kirkheaton C&BC B team this Tuesday. The final fixture of the day sees third-placed Marsh Lib B go up against Almondbury BC C who sit in the second relegation place at present and need to pick up some points soon before the safety gap gets any wider than it is now.
