Ladies Works League
A full fixture programme in both divisions this coming week as teams come to terms with being on the green once again after a 15-month break. It takes a while to get back in the routine and I am sure that the standard will continue to increase as bowlers settle into the matchday mood.
Alicia Dawn Photography will look to bounce back from last week's Division 1 home defeat by Atkinsons Butchers but it will be no easy task away to Brook Hansen 'A' who have won both their games to date. Meanwhile Atkinsons will be looking to consolidate their top of the table position when they entertain Huddersfield Recreation Club who have lost both of their opening two matches. Two teams looking to record their first wins meet up at the Marsh Liberal green when PEG Perego host Bolster Moor Farm Shop.
The top match in Division 2 this week features two unbeaten teams when D. Haigh & Co have home advantage over Paul's Kitchens on Tuesday evening. Haigh's are aiming at least one place higher than last season's third-place finish this time around but have to face a Paul's Kitchen side keen to return to the top flight after they hope will be a sabbatical season at this level. Home advantage could be crucial here. The other two fixtures feature the four teams still looking for their first wins of the season and two of those will achieve that on Monday evening when Brook Hansen 'B' take on personalise HR and Pearce Displays will be keen to build on their last performance against Holmes Dresser when going down by a single point 130-131 against the Colne Valley Garden Centre.
