Winter League
Four of our host clubs are staging Christmas parties to follow on from the last day of League matches on each of the four greens. These are always well supported events as the social aspects of Winter bowling continue to be a major factor in the success of the League.
Division 10 bowlers are spoilt for choice with the two clubs that have looked after them this season both open to Division 10 bowlers. Maybe they will go to both? In fact all four parties are open to any Winter League bowlers and spectators.
The Lindley Liberal Club party will follow the completion of the Division 5 fixtures on Wednesday 17 December. Tickets are available now on matchdays or by contacting Martin Holt by email on senorholtski@btinternet.com. The event is open to all comers, so bring your partner, wife, husband, lover, mistress and start the holiday season in style. There is a mixture of celebrations to be endured and enjoyed as listed on the poster below.
Tickets are now available on Mondays and Wednesday bowling days from Martin Holt at a price of £5 which includes food. The food will be either Turkey sandwich ( stuffng & sauces will be available) or steak pie & peas. Vegetarian option also available. All food will need to be ordered on ticket purchase.
Cowcliffe Liberal Club Division 2 Christmas Party will be on Tuesday 16 December.
The Party will start around 2.30pm and tickets are now available at the club at £5 for a turkey dinner and entertainment too. Quiz, raffle, sit down stand up bingo and lots of fun. All welcome.
Netherton Cons Club Division 6 Christmas Party will be on Thursday 18 December.
Again the party will start around 2.30pm after all the bowling has finished. There will be pie 'n' peas and a choice of a pork pie or minced beef and onion or there is a vegetarian option. Tickets are now available from the club priced at £3.50 each or email Geoff Dyson at geoffdyson@live.com to reserve your tickets. There will be a Christmas Raffle and they will be playing Play Your Cards Right.
The Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club Division 7 party will be held on Thursday 18 December in the main rugby club's smart clubhouse. A pie 'n' peas lunch is on the menu along with the traditional Christmas Fun Quiz. Please let the club know if you are going to be there before the day and preferably by next week so that numbers to be catered for are known. It is a 1.30pm start and bowling starts early that day at 10.30am with a limited catering menu to retain the hunger for the grand party. An all-in price of £5 covers everything.
Whichever party you are going to please get your tickets in good time so that the clubs know how many people they are catering for. Christmas jumpers are not compulsory but they do add to the occasion. Merry Christmas.
