Last day scramble for 2nd Inter-District place

Veterans League

Unless the Huddersfield team totally capitulates in their final match this season against Halifax then West Riding will be declared the 2022 Yorkshire Inter-District. They have a lead of 50 points ahead of the Halifax representative team and with 56 points at stake in each match it is still mathematically possible for them to be overtaken. In reality a 56-0 scoreline has never happened before so it just isn't going to happen this Friday as West Riding sit on the sidelines waiting to open the champagne.

The Huddersfield team is playing for pride and second place as they see the title slip from their grasp to a dominant West Riding side that fully deserve their big win. The winners of this match are not guaranteed the runners-up spot as the Bradford team is lurking in 4th position with a Skipton side that hasn't won any matches at all as their final day opponents. The losers of the Halifax-Huddersfield fixture are likely to be condemned to 4th place in the final table.

The home match versus Halifax is at Milnsbridge with the away one being staged at Elland WMC both with a 1pm start time.
