Preview of Division 5 fixtures to be played on Thursday 8 December

Consecutive 2-6 defeats for the Division 5 leaders Thorpe Green 'C' before a win last Thursday saw them reigned in by their rivals and the gap is now 6-points ahead of Almondbury BC 'B'.

This Thursday is a derby match as Thorpe Green take on Golcar C&BC whilst the Almondbury side meet 4th placed Netherton Con 'B' who haven't won any of their last three matches. The Almondbury team slipped up last week when dropping four points to lowly Hudd.RUBC following two big wins and that has enabled Milnsbridge 'C' to creep up on them.

That gap is now only 2-points and Milnsbridge's next two fixtures are against teams in the bottom half of the table before the last match before Christmas pits Almondbury against Milnsbridge and Merry Christmas to the winner of that.

If Springwood 'C' lose a match they lose it in big style as their three defeats this season have all been by the 0-8 scoreline. All the other 4 matches have resulted in wins and they will expect to follow that up this week when they take on bottom-of-the-table Brockholes 'B'. This week is a rerun of the opening day fixtures and the original match saw the Springwood outfit run out 6-2 winners. Is that on the cards again for this week?
