Veterans League
Review of the results of the Veterans 6-Man League matches played on Monday 17 June
Marsh United A have added another point to the three-points lead they had before this Monday's Division 1 matches. A 6-1 home win over Paddock I&C wasn't matched by their nearest opponents, Waterloo, who had a 5-2 home win over Brockholes A. However that enabled Netherton Con to muscle in on a top two spot after winning 6-1 away at Golcar C&BC.
Skel Windmill A began their recovery from last week's defeat which took them off the top of the table with a 5-2 home win over a faltering Slaithwaite team that has now lost 6 of their last 7 matches but still hang on to the top half of the table position. Shepley A continued their winning run which was extended to five after a 6-1 home win over Lockwood Con who are now firmly fixed to bottom place. Crosland Moor sit in the second relegation spot after a 2-5 home defeat by fellow strugglers Thongsbridge A.
Lindley Lib A's 5-2 away win at Milnsbridge A enabled them to overtake their opponents but both teams remain in the bottom half of the table.
Golcar Lib had a massive setback to their Division 2 title hopes after going down 0-7 at Marsh Lib but it could be worse than that as their promotion hopes took a hammering as well as Bradley & Colne and Marsh Lib closed in on them. Bradley & Colne's 7-0 win over Hemplow saw the gap between them and the promotion places drop from 9 points to just a gap of two points in a week.
Clayton West go clear at the top with a 5-2 home win over New Mill who drop two places to 5th spot as a result. Despite having a 7-0 home win over Almondbury Lib, Holmfirth A stay in 6th place and remain on the fringe of the promotion push.
Those defeats for Hemplow and Almondbury Lib see them locked together in the 2nd relegation spot after Linthwaite Hall teased out a 4-3 away win at bottom-of-the-table Elland C&BC to pass them both. Milnsbridge B remain on the edge of the relegation battle after a 1-6 away loss at Lindley Lib B who stay 7th but now well clear of relegation fears. Greenhead Park A's 6-1 home win over Longwood helped them move up a place and one point behind Longwood.
Big home wins for Denby Dale and Brockholes extended their Division 3 lead over the chasing pack from 7 points to 13 points as two of their nearest rivals suffered big losses. Thongsbridge B going down 1-6 at home to Holmfirth B who move up 4 places to 3rd and then Greenhead Park B took a 0-7 hammering at Brockholes B and drop from 5th to 7th.
That win for Brockholes B coupled with Denby Dale's 6-1 over Primrose Hill Lib means that the top two teams are locked together on 52 points although that 13 points cushion over the pack will be of considerable comfort to them. There are two Friday fixtures in Division 3 this week both involving bottom half teams as below.
