Winter League

A preview of Division 3 matches to be played on Monday 6 December

Two teams have an early start to their fixture programme this week as Lindley BC 'B' and Thorpe Green 'C' complete last week's delayed pairs match from 10.30am. The position after the two singles games is level at 2-2 with both sides winning one game so 8-0 is the only scoreline not possible in the final outcome. Whoever wins the match will be at the top of the Division 3 league table for at least 3 hours until the usual Monday programme kicks in.

The 12noon start matches see former league leader Rastrick 'B' trying to recapture the form that saw them win their first three matches and top the table. Since then they have struggled to build on that great start to season winning only one of their last four matches. This Monday they play the dogged Dalton team who have drawn their last two matches against the top two teams in the current table so no easy return to winning ways for Rastrick but an intriguing match.

Thorpe Green 'C' take on bottom of the table Huddersfield Recreation Club 'C' who are still looking for their first win since the opening day of the season. In contrast the Thorpe Green side will be protecting a record that remains unbeaten since the first match of the season.

The table below shows the Brockholes team leading the way but by the time they start their match against Milnsbridge 'B' they will have been overtaken by both Thorpe Green 'C' and Lindley BC 'B'. Brockholes will fancy their chances of extending their current unbeaten run to six matches as all the teams march on to the halfway point of the season.

Lindley BC 'B' come into their fixture with Lowerhouses 'B' on the back of two 8-0 wins although they face a Lowerhouses team that has won 3 of their last 4 matches to join the top group of 6 teams separated by just 4 points. Looks like these top 6 are all capable of beating each other so it remains very interesting in watching which teams prevail.

Spectators are most welcome to join in the winter bowling experience and hot drinks and refreshments are available for all as are raffle tickets.
