Division 2 Winter Cup Qualifiers

You don't realise how high up you are when bowling at Cowcliffe until the mist descends above you and blots out everything below you. It certainly descended last Tuesday when you walked through the mist and got wet every time you ventured anywhere. But it was mild and the green ran well for the 13 all-male entrants in the Division 2 Winter Cup Qualifier and one can expect a little adverse weather when you go Winter bowling. That didn't detract from the day as hot drinks, chocolate biscuits and freshly baked scones were available to keep us all going.

The reigning 2025 Winter Cup Champion, Stuart Greaves of New Mill B was among the 13 entrants and was warmly welcomed(?) by his Tuesday opponents and Stuart duly acknowledged(?) their good(?) wishes for the day's exercise. Ten matches were played in total and three of those were inter-club challenges. Both the eventual qualifiers had to beat teammates en route to the next knock-out stage of the competition.

Bowlers need to have played one League match to be eligible to enter the Winter Cup.

Bowlers need to be aware of the later round dates which are both held at Huddersfield RUFC.
