This is the first bit of action for the Division 2 bowlers since mid-December so the latest formbook may not be relevant in forecasting the likely outcome of some of these fixtures. Meltham A will certainly hope that this doesn't apply to them as, after an opening run of 5 match defeats, which included four straight 0-8 defeats, they had gone on to win their last three matches and had their sights firmly set on safer territory. Their opponents this week are Marsh United who haven't won any of their last five fixtures and had dropped down the table and perilously close to the drop zone. A big win for the Meltham side could see the two teams swap positions.

Tucked between those two teams sits Lowerhouses B who are only in this Division due to Denby Dale declining promotion last season. They were promoted after finishing 8-points behind the Division 3 Champions New Mill B who they meet this week and who have consolidated their position at this new level and sit comfortably in fourth position. However they are nearer the bottom than the top based on their points total so further consolidation would be welcome starting with a win against the Lowerhouses B team this week.
The Lowerhouses A team retain their interest in a promotion place finish and are currently one point behind that target but have to play the runaway leaders, Clayton West, this Tuesday. Lindley Lib A are on course for an immediate return to Division 1 and occupy the position that the Lowerhouses team aspire to. They will be looking to avenge an earlier season defeat at the hands of Milnsbridge A when the two teams meet again on Tuesday.
