Interesting encounter at the top of Division 1 this week when second-placed Kirkheaton Con take on runaway leaders Lower Hopton. If any inroads on the 8-point gap to the leaders are to be made then this has to be the week. On the individuals front, the two teams fill four of the top five places in the averages charts and we can therefore expect to witness some top-class bowling from both teams. A defeat of the leaders would certainly arouse the interest of all the teams in the division but such has been their dominance of their opponents that it will be a major achievement to even test that resolve.
DIVISION 1 TOP 5 AVERAGES
Given their results last season the Milnsbridge 'A' team bowlers have under-performed this time around and are clearly capable of better results than those posted to date. They get another opportunity to show their full potential when playing the all-ladies team the New Millers who have only lost to the leaders so far this season.
Two mid-table teams with identical Won-3 Lost-3 records go head-to-head this Wednesday when Lindley BC 'A' meet Thorpe Green 'A'. Another straight fact is that neither side has suffered a 0-8 reversal all season so adding all these stats together points towards a close encounter.
Clayton West will be the first team to reach the halfway total of 8 matches played so they will be keen to make it a winning end at this milestone point and will expect nothing less when playing bottom-of-the-table Rastrick 'A'. It all takes place on the Milnsbridge BC green starting at 12noon with 4 jacks, one for each match, on the green at all times. Spectators are most welcome and refreshments are available for all.
