Preview of the Division 3 fixtures at Springwood on Wednesday 27 November
Denby Dale continue to leave all the other Division 3 teams behind them in their wake as they place their unbeaten record in front of Lockwood Con A this week. The Division 1 teams are playing the reverse fixtures to the opening day programme when Denby Dale swept the Lockwood team aside with an 8-0 thumping. The Lockwood team bounced back from that to win three-on-trot but have since stuttered in their last two fixtures. Whatever happens Denby Dale will continue to head the table after this round of matches as their 11 point lead guarantees that but they will be looking to extend their unbeaten record and extend that gap further.
Second-placed Lowerhouses B will be aiming to reduce that gap and will probably need a big win against bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield Recreation Club A to have a chance of doing that. The next three teams all sit on the same 24 points total and they all avoid playing each other this Wednesday. Brockholes A may be surprising themselves with their good start to this campaign but they are third on merit and only the leaders have beaten them in their last four fixtures and this week will look to avenge their opening-day defeat to Springwood A.
New Mill B have lost their last three fixtures which has seen them drop into the relegation places after a promising start to the season which included a good win against this week's opponents Thorpe Green C. Since then the Thorpe Green team have setlled at this level after their promotion and will look to settle even further with an improvement on that early defeat.
