COMPETITION SECRETARY

We used to have two competitions a year, in the last few years, for one reason or another there has been only one, we want to get back to two although we are aiming at three, pairs, individual and team. In the past the custom has been for teams to be asked at the AGM if the will take a comp on, hopefully, somebody will volunteer and we then leave them to get on with it. The committee feels that this is not quite the way it should work and that what we need is a Competition Secretary.

This is, of course, a new idea for us and what we are looking for is a volunteer who will join the committee and take on this new role. They will work with other committee members, drawing not only on their experience, but that of team captains, who have previously organised competitions, to develop the role. It is expected that the Competition Secretary will gradually take on appropriate tasks currently being dealt with by other committee members, as they feel able to.
