Clayton West go top of Division 1

Winter League

A review of the Divisions 1 & 2 results from Wednesday 15 November

Clayton West are the new Division 1 leader after overcoming Lindley BC A by 8-0 coupled with previous leaders Thorpe Green being held 4-4 by Meltham. The Meltham side finished third last season but are still looking for their first win of the new season and this result was a good stepping stone to reaching that objective. Thorpe Green failed to win for the first time this season. The Clayton West result was a third 8-0 win in their four matches so a great start for them.

New Mill A returned to winning form with a 6-2 win over Kirkheaton Con who are still waiting for their first win of the season. One team to hit that milestone was Golcar Lib winning for the first time in the Winter League when they ended Lowerhouse's unbeaten start to the campaign with a 6-2 outcome.

Cowcliffe A continue to surge ahead in Division 2 with their latest win being over their closest rivals for the title, Milnsbridge A with a 6-2 scoreline. Cowcliffe being the only top five team to win their match this week with Lindley BC B without a match and Lindley Lib A and Lockwood Con A both suffering 2-6 reversals. All four matches in this division ended with the same 6-2 scoreline including Brockholes A in their first win of the season by beating Lindley Lib A and Springwood A who leapt three places to third after beating Lockwood Con A. That leaves five teams on the same 15-points total which includes Huddersfield Recreation Club A after their 6-2 win over Denby Dale who stay rooted to the foot of the table,
