Brockholes stop stuttering to stay top

Winter League Review of the Division 3 & 4 matches played on Monday 19 December

Brockholes 'A' seem to have weathered their mid-season 3-match stutter and are back on top of the Division 3 table following an 8-0 win over Almondbury BC 'A' on Monday. With only 3 matches left to play they could be celebrating promotion after their first match in 2023.

They haven't shaken off Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' who beat Springwood 6-2 to stay well in contention. Those two scorelines left the Almondbury and Springwood teams in dire straits although Rastrick 'B' remain in range after a white-wash defeat at the hands of Dalton who go third as a result, one ahead of Paddock I&C 'A' who lost 2-6 to Thorpe Green 'B'.

Lindley Lib 'B' stay top of the Division 4 table after beating Paddock I&C 'B0 6-2 which was a second consecutive scoreline (6-2) and aggregate (59-37) for them. Milnsbridge 'B' crept closer with an 8-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' who are now 15 points adrift of safety.

Kirkheaton C&BC had their promotion hopes damaged when going down 2-6 to Marsh Lib with the two teams now in tandem in 4th and 5th positions. Lowerhouses 'B' moved up a position to 3rd after beating Netherton Con 'A' 6-2 but are 5 points behind Milnsbridge who hold down the second promotion place at present. The two teams (Lowerhouses and Milnsbridge) meet each other in the first week of the new year which could become a promotion decider but it is certainly a match that the Lowerhouses team cannot afford to lose.
