The Brockholes 'B' team looked resplendent in their new sponsored green fleeces and they were smart enough on the green as well to beat the table leaders Thorpe Green 'C' 6-2 and move off the bottom.
That was only their second win of the Division 5 season and what better team to record it against than the team leading the promotion charge. With none of the top three teams winning their matches this week means no change in the pecking order. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams, Milnsbridge 'C' and Almondbury BC 'B' sharing the points 4-4 to stay in the same positions in the table.
Netherton Con 'B' and Golcar C&BC also shared the spoils when they met and the tight aggregate scoreline of 56-54 enabled the Golcar side to claim the extra points. Springwood 'C' were the big winners of the day clocking up an 8-0 win over Huddersfield RUBC who drop to bottom spot as a result which pushes the Springwood side into the promotion equation with plenty of time to go before time gets called.
