Big decisions for Winter League this week

Winter League

The Winter League Management Committee meet this Friday with some big decisions to make about the coming season.

These include the makeup of the current 8 divisions of the League and the future involvement of the 8 new team applications received. We are on the verge of finalising arrangements with a new host club which will be revealed to the Management Committee on Friday. This new host would serve the needs of a new Division 9.

There is also a proposal to be placed before the Management Committee for cash prizes to be introduced for the Winter Cup individuals competition. The League has never paid out cash prizes before to any individual or team with the emphasis in the League to benefit clubs rather than individuals. However at the last meeting of the Management Committee the League Officials were asked to go away and produce some options to be considered at the next meeting.

In addition the meeting will agree an agenda for the League's Annual General Meeting which is scheduled for 1 August 2025. The agenda will include a number of League Rule changes including one which will change the terms of the Guest Bowler status within the League.

The League's Management Committee is comprised of the four League Officials plus 6 Committee members plus a representative from each of the 8 host clubs. It usually meets 2 or 3 times a year with the last meeting being on 5 March 2025.
