BCGBA Calendar 2023

Bowling News

The BCGBA has announced its fixture programme for 2023 which is below. This includes the dates for the Senior County Championship when the Yorkshire team will defend the title. I cannot see the ladies' competition among the dates already allocated when the Yorkshire team is also due to defend the title they won last year.

The three group games are against Warwick & Worcester, Lancashire and South Yorkshire on the first Sundays in May, June and July. All the dates have been added to the HuddWeb Homepage Bowling Calendar along with a range of other dates as known at this time.

First event in the calendar is the World Club Championship which will once again be staged at Spen Victoria over five Sundays starting in mid-March.

There has been some criticism on social media websites of the number of competitions allocated to the public Heaton Park in Manchester. Events had to be taken away from that venue last year when the green was deemed to be below the standard required to host such premier events. Some are making comparisons with how the BCGBA did not provide the same level of support to the Blackpool Waterloo.

Most of the dates listed below have been added to the Homepage Bowling Calendar which is back in action once again as Clubs, Leagues, Counties & BCGBA gear up for the new season.
