All static at top of top two divisions

Veterans League Review of the Divisions 1 & 2 results of matches played on Tuesday 4 June

Lowerhouses, Longwood and Lockwood Con A all recorded the same 7-2 win scorelines in Tuesday's Division 1 fixtures to ensure that the top three remain intact and with the same gaps between them. Cowcliffe, Rastrick and Golcar Lib A all being on the wrong end of those scorelines. Bottom-of-the-table Netherton Con were on the same wrong end of the same 2-7 scoreline when losing for the 7th time and their conquerors, Kirkheaton Con A, climb into the top half of the table.

The scheduled Marsh United A versus Waterloo match has been changed to 25 June which is the date of the next round of the Bistro with both teams already eliminated from that competition. A 6-3 home win for Clayton West over Lindley BC A was good enough to lift them three places and out of the relegation places. Despite that defeat Lindley BC A move up two places to fourth slot.

Meltham A, Elland C&BC and Milnsbridge A retain the top three positions in the latest Division 2 table but Meltham have widened the gap to 9 points after beating Lindley Lib A 7-2 whilst Milnsbridge A won the meeting of the next two teams but only one point now separates them and Elland C&BC.

At the start of play on Tuesday the bottom four teams were only one point apart and lined up to play each other. At the end of the day there are four points between them and the two winning teams have climbed to comparative safety as Almondbury Lib have now joined the relegation fight. They lost 2-7 away at New Mill and drop from 8th position to 12th. Shepley and Linthwaite were the two winners in the bottom four meetings. Shepley beat Almondbury BC A 5-4 with a 122-119 aggregate advantage key in that outcome. A second win of the season for Linthwaite Hall, 6-3 over Broad Oak A, was sufficient to lift them up a place to 8th spot and condemn the Broad Oak team to the second relegation place.

A closely fought meeting at Golcar Lib B saw the home side go down 4-5 to Thongsbridge A where once again the aggregate score result (118-113) was instrumental in the division of points.
