After setbacks the Div. 4 top two clash

Winter League

A preview of the Divisions 3 & 4 fixtures scheduled for Monday 27 November

Milnsbridge B suffered a huge blow to their Division 3 promotion hopes last week when going down 2-6 to Lindley Lib B and need to recover from that quickly if they are to remount their hopes of progress. With their next three matches up to Christmas against mid-table teams, starting with Rastrick on Monday, that must all be won if they are to remain in contention.

The top two look really strong promotion candidates but things can change and the top three all have to play each other several times yet. Both will expect to beat their opponents this week with Marsh United taking on Dalton on Monday and Hanging Heaton facing Thorpe Green B. Hanging Heaton lost their first match of the season but have won every match since whilst Marsh United have won all six of their fixtures to date.

Lindley Lib B will be looking to build on last week's good result when taking on strugglers Paddock I&C who need every point they can muster to stave off the threat of relegation.

The top two teams in Division 4 lost their fixtures last week but both hung on to their elevated positions. This week they face each other and the loser will become vulnerable to the advances of Netherton Con A and Lindley Lib C. They cannot expect a second setback to go unpunished although their prime challenger, Netherton Con B, have a bye week to allow the top two a breathing space to regroup. However as the top two are facing each other both cannot win and the loser is going to come within the range of the Netherton team. Lindley Lib C remain a threat as well and as they meet relegation-threatened Springwood B this week so they will expect to close in on the losing team from the top two clash.

Bottom of the table Almondbury BC A are still looking for their first win of the season and have no chance of achieving that if their Monday opponents, Kirkheaton C&BC, continue the form they showed last week when beating New Mill B. Lowerhouses B will be keen to move away from the threat of a drop into the relegation places and could overtake their opponents in the table, Milnsbridge C, if they can put a big winning performance together.
