Winter League
The Netherton team have put a lot of work into making their green playable for the Thursday fixture programme so hopefully, no more snow overnight to reward all their hard work for a grateful bunch of bowlers.
A preview of the Division 5 fixtures to be played at Netherton Con this Thursday (weather permitting) when OSCAR is unveiled for the very first time.

Two teams locked together at the top of the Division 5 table on the same 56 points total and they meet this Thursday when Almondbury BC 'B' go up against Thorpe Green 'C' in a possible title decider.

The winner is not even guaranteed top spot as third-placed Milnsbridge 'C' are just two points behind the pair with a match against Brockholes 'B' which could take them clear. However the spotlight is on the top two encounter with the Almondbury side unbeaten in their last 7 matches whereas Thorpe Green have dipped in form recently resulting in two defeats in their last three matches.
When the two teams met earlier in the season it was Almondbury who came out on top 6-2 but that will mean little as we edge towards the business end of the season and everything is at stake. Neither team can claim the title this week but they could lose it.
Brockholes 'B' are a completely different proposition since they put on their new green fleece jackets having won all three matches since that change of wardrobe after only one win in their first 7 matches. With Thorpe Green 'C' among the three teams to have fallen to the new men in green their fixture against third-placed Milnsbridge 'C' will hold no fear for them. The earlier season meeting of the two teams resulted in a 4-4 draw and it would be no surprise should there be a repeat of that outcome.
The Rugby Club's win last week over Golcar C&BC has raised their hopes of avoiding the wooden spoon in their inaugural season in the League. Now just 4 points behind last week's opponents and facing Netherton Con 'B' this Thursday with renewed hopes of a big finish to the season in which they have rotated 15 different bowlers into their team.
That leaves Golcar C&BC, looking for a first win in 5, facing Springwood 'C' and looking to avenge an earlier season 2-6 defeat.
This complete fixture programme will be monitored by OSCAR this week with the new online scores and results system on trial and available for everyone around the green and anywhere else as well. It is going to be an interesting day both on and off the green at Netherton this Thursday, weather permitting.
