Veterans League
There is a new competition this year in the Veterans World of Bowling with an Inter-District edge included. There are 9 teams in the Yorkshire Inter-District League and they all play each other once with home and away teams playing each time. That means that one district team has a bye each matchday. That vacant day is now filled with a qualifying competition for each district in turn.
Each district will host the final in their turn following this rota:
2026 Castleford, 2027 Huddersfield, 2028 Wakefield, 2029 Skipton, 2030 West Riding, 2031 Aire & Wharfe, 2032 Leeds, 2033 Halifax, 2034 Bradford
The prize fund for the final 18 will be in excess of £1,100 thanks to generous sponsorship from Graham Hirst and Castleford district. The qualifiers must play at least 3 games during the season for their district.
A singles competition playing down to two qualifiers who progress through to Finals Day. The details of the first Finals Day are below but will end with a first-ever Yorkshire Inter-District Veterans Merit Champion. Most of the qualifying rounds have already been played and the details are again below with Andy Lumb (Kirkheaton Con) and Tim Poulter (Clayton West) the last two standing in the Huddersfield qualifying round.
