The last round of matches in the Round Robin stage in the 2023 BCGBA Senior Mens County Championship takes place this Sunday with the Yorkshire derby match and with the South Yorkshire team standing in the way of the Yorkshire team looking towards a third consecutive BCGBA title.
The Yorkshire team is well positioned to qualify for the semi-final knock-out stage with the Section winners progressing through to play the winners from the four teams in Section 1. That currently sees the Derbyshire representative side in prime position to progress to the knock-out stage.
Before thoughts can turn to such a meeting there remains the matter of which team from Section 2 will qualify to move on the the semi-finals. The league table below shows that any one of three teams could mathematically make the next stage but it really is the Yorkshire teams in everything but name. They would have to lose all 24 games to single figures to close the 200 point aggregate lead advantage they have to jeopardise their chances of progressing. That just isn't going to happen.
The Yorkshire home and away teams have been named with a number of Huddersfield bowlers included and are below with all the details you need to know about this stage of the competition. The knock-out stage begins with the semi-finals scheduled for Sunday 6 August.
