Yorkshire Mixed Pairs win BCGBA title

The Huddersfield pair of Craig Gant (Thongsbridge) and Jasmine Kendall (Linthwaite C&BC) won the BCGBA Centenary Mixed Pairs title at Manchester on Saturday 7 October. It has taken a little while to get all the information together to publish a proper report as the Yorkshire CGBA seems loath to publicise and celebrate their representative's achievement.

One of the two Yorkshire representative pairs Jasmine and Craig played five matches on the day to take home this prestigious title and emulated the 2019 success of Fern Beaumont and Jack Dyson and similarly the title win of Andrea Buckley and Michael Sweeney in 2015. Yorkshire has a proud record in this competition enhanced once again this year by the success of the Huddersfield pair so very well done to them.

The other Yorkshire pairing of Chloe Hirst and Gareth Coates were edged out in a 20-21 Round 1 loss to a Warwick & Worcester pair who went all the way to the semi-finals before missing out on a Final appearance themselves by 19-21.
