Yorkshire Ladies v North Warwickshire

Bowling News


The Yorkshire team continue their 2023 campaign to retain the BCGBA Ladies County Championship title they won last year with a match against North Warwickshire on Sunday 18 June. The away team are playing at Nuneaton whilst the home side are at Lindley BC and both matches have a 2pm start time. Lindley BC will provide a warm welcome to the teams and all spectators as per usual.


Our representative team had a good start to the defence of their title with a 479-328 win over North Midlands last month whilst the North Warwickshire team was going down 393-411 to Greater Manchester leaving the league table looking like this.

The teams have been named for the next round of Section 4 fixtures and are listed below.

No one wants a team to turn up with less than 10 bowlers - we all want a game of competitive bowls and take no pleasure in being awarded points for the opposition not having a full team.

I very much hope that Bradley and Colne are able to field a full team starting next Tuesday against my team , Lindley B.C.

The League are in a difficult position as , if they appear to interfere too much, then Bradley may feel as they should resign. We don’t want that.

Could there be a way forward of any teams with bowlers not getting a game ( there are some teams with registered bowlers who have yet to play a game…
