Yorkshire Cup entry deadline is Friday

Bowling News

There is a lot of speculation and concerns about the future of the top team knock-out competitions in the county on Facebook none more so than the Yorkshire Cup. A poor response to date has opened discussions about making the competition open to women bowlers in an attempt to rekindle interest in the competition.

The Yorkshire CCGBA report that with just a few days to the 2023 competition entry deadline they have received only 18 entries. Hardly a prime response to the top team competition in the county. Friday 31 March is the entry deadline for the Yorkshire Cup and the Hutchinson Cup. There has been 34 entries to date to the Hutchinson Cup which allows women bowlers to compete in it.

First round losers in the Yorkshire Cup and Hutchinson Cup are automatically entered into the Henry Taylor Cup and Dereck Radley Cup respectively. Entry is £20 per team and all entries have to be by email to dmawaite@sky.com
