AGM Calling notice email from YCCGBA to some clubs
Proposed rule change
AGM Agenda
Club subscription & fees for 2026 season
The Annual General Meeting of the Yorkshire CCGBA will be held at Cleckheaton Sports Club from 12noon on Saturday 21 February. I once again have to rely on obtaining a copy of the notice of the AGM and papers from a contact in Halifax. Despite being the Secretary of a Huddersfield-based League that pays its annual dues to YCCGBA I have never had a copy sent to me over the 6 years of our existence nor ever received a handbook which we get charged £3 for. Every year I contact the CEO to inform him of this 'oversight'. Every year he promises to correct it for next year, he never does.
The AGM is just a week away. Reading through the received papers, a few things jump out at me.
There are no financial accounts available at this time
Five papers supporting items on the agenda are not available at this time
Huddersfield teams were poorly represented at the 2025 AGM including the absence of the official Huddersfield representative on the Yorkshire CCGBA Committee (or the year before that as well if I recall correctly).
Once again our League will be paying for a BCGBA handbook that we never ever receive.
Email from the Yorkshire CCGBA Chief Executive to some clubs. That email opens with this apology.
If you have received this email and are no longer the person delegated to receive it please pass to your club.
We have changed providers of our email addresses and all the changes I have done to email addresses over the last few months have been lost from the last provider so I have had to revert to downloading a previous list. I am really sorry if this impacts you. This is also a reason for the delay in sending out the AGM notice as you will appreciate 270 plus emails take some keeping up with. I have also been very busy at work following the collapse of the West Yorkshire law firm PM Law.
A council meeting will take place before the AGM so please be aware if turning up early.
I was hoping to send the accounts with the Agenda but these have not been received by me as yet I will forward with some officer reports, hopefully I will have had time to sort the email list.
Steve Cochrane
YCCGBA CEO and Registrar
There is only one rule change proposed this year and that concerns the start time for County Cup competitions and states that:
Rule Title: Yorkshire and Henry Taylor Cups Rule No. 10
After ‘All Cup Ties should commence not later than ‘ replace 2.30pm with 2.00pm then after ‘Teams shall be scratched if not arrived by’ replace 3.30 pm with 3.00pm. Add at the end of the rule ‘ All leagues and Associations should keep cup fixture dates free of league matches to enable YCCGBA fixture to take place.
