The Yorkshire Senior County Men's team beat their Derbyshire opposite numbers on Sunday by 445-419 to progress to the Section 4 playoff match on Sunday 6 July.
The home match was played at Thornhill C&BC where the Yorkshire team won 9 of the 12 games and created a 26 points aggregate lead of 229-203. The Yorkshire away side won 4 of the 12 legs but, critically in 5 of the losing games collected 18-20 aggregate points to share the totals 216 each. That gave a total combined aggregate score of 445-409 in Yorkshire's favour.
Yorkshire are in a 3-team qualifying section along with Derbyshire and Shropshire. Having won the first match, the Yorkshire team go through to the final qualifying day. Next up in Section 4 is the Derbyshire v Shropshire match which will be played on Sunday 1 June. The winners of that match will then play the Yorkshire team on Sunday 6 July which will determine the team to progress through to the semi-finals of the 2025 competition..
