Yorkshire 429-420 W&W

Bowling News

Yorkshire won the BCGBA Senior Men's County Championship yesterday with a 429-420 win over the 2024 Champions Warwick & Worcester. It was a sweet win for the Yorkshire team after losing out to the same opponents in last year's Final by 427-445.

The win was especially sweet for the Yorkshire away team after losing their leg last year on the same Triplex Sports & Social Club green by a tie-deciding total gap of 60 points after a 188-248 loss. The home team won their leg last year by 239-197 but the gap was too big for them to claw all the difference back.

A different story this year as the away team more than equalled their opponents before going down by just 12 points this time around. The home team won by 21 points with the score totals 217-196 to provide the full match score of 429-420, a wonderful win and deserving the title of 2025 Champions of the BCGBA top county team competition.
