Review of the opening day of the Winter League season at Primrose Hill Lib

The Division 3 programme started the beginning of the 4th season of Winter League bowling on a new host green at Primrose Hill Lib on Monday. At least the day stayed dry, the green played very well and that promises to be a weekly treat for the teams, the Leek & Potato soup was most welcome along with a choice of bread cakes and buns and the resident ginger tom joined in the action. It promises to be a good experience for the nine teams as we look forward to a good contest played in the right spirit.

There are two teams new to the League in Division 3 this year and one of those, Marsh United, had the perfect start to their campaign when racking up an 8-0 win over the host club. The other newby being Hanging Heaton who had a bye this week.

Marsh and Hanging Heaton are the two most picked teams in the Division by Fantasy League entrants so Marsh gave their supporters hopes of a good season but the Hanging Heaton supporters will have to wait until next week to see if that choice is justified. Lindley Lib B and Milnsbridge B both built on their promotion from Division 4 to begin their campaigns with good wins. Lindley Lib beating Dalton 6-2 whilst Milnsbridge B white-washed Thorpe Green B 8-0 to go level top with Marsh United.
