We now have a total of eight new team applications for the 2025-26 Winter League season which makes our new Division 9 fully subscribed for the coming season starting in October.

The two latest teams to sign up are Mirfield C and Greenhead Park. These join the previous six new applications from Kirkheaton Con C, Brockholes C, Mirfield Old Bank, Kirkheaton C&BC C, Hemplow and Almondbury BC C. We are still open to adding further applications to our 2025-26 season Reserve List in case of further developments.

The League's working assumption all through the close season has been that there will be 8 new teams applying to join the League to form a new Division 9. I am really too smug about that target being achieved before tomorrow's deadline but what I am not smug about is the lack of a new host green to become the season-long base for those new teams.

We still don't have a host club yet to ensure that the Division 9 teams are able to join in the amazing experience of winter bowling but we remain hopeful of attracting a new host in the near future.
