Review of the situation at the top and bottom of all the 6-Man League Divisions

Following last Monday's results, the Divisions 2 and 3 title destinations have been decided but none of the relegation issues in all four divisions have been concluded yet.

KEY C = Champions P = Promoted R = Relegated

DIVISION 1

TOP: The leaders, Clayton West, need one point from their final fixture away to 2nd placed Marsh United to clinch the title for a second successive season.

BOTTOM: Mathematically, any two of the bottom four teams can still be relegated although Golcar C&BC just need two points from their final match at home to Skel Windmill A to survive and send their opponents down. Lindley Lib A need to match or better the final day points total of Thongsbridge A to avoid an immediate return to Division 2.

DIVISION 2

TOP: Brockholes A are the Division 2 Champions after their 5-2 home win over Golcar Lib A last Monday. Longwood are the only team that can overtake New Mill A for the second promotion place. The teams meet at New Mill next Monday. The home team need two points from that match to secure promotion. BOTTOM: With the result from Monday's Paddock I&C v Marsh Lib fixture not yet added to Bowlsnet the total picture is unclear. If the Paddock team got two points from that match then they are already safe. If not, they still need 2 points from their Monday trip to play Golcar Lib A. Denby Dale and Brockholes B are favourites to go down and anything less than final-day 7-0 wins will confirm that.

DIVISION 3 TOP: All done and dusted with Thongsbridge A the champions, and Golcar Lib B will be joining their A team in Division 2 next season.

BOTTOM: Two from three are going down. The key fixture being the clash of Elland C&BC versus Marsh Lib B. Even a 7-0 home win for the Elland team may be insufficient to save them if Greenhead Park A perform away to the Division 3 Champions where any win will probably secure their Division 3 status for another season.

DIVISION 4 TOP: Hemplow B need a minimum of four points from their final day home match against Shepley B to add the Division 4 Championship to their already gained promotion. Nothing less than a 5-2 home win for Netherton Con B will keep them in contention for the title but it is really out of their hands although they are already assured of promotion.

BOTTOM: Last Monday's 2-5 away defeat for Brockholes D at Shepley probably sealed their fate in collecting the wooden spoon and that will be confirmed if they don't win this week's home match against Holmfirth B by 7-0 and even that may not be enough.
